Miguel is officially a father and has been for quite some time.
On Tuesday, September 9, the Grammy Award-winning singer posted a video of his one-year-old son, Angel, whom he welcomed last year with former Editor-in-Chief of Vogue China, Margaret Zhang. Zhang was included in Miguel's joint post and directed the video of their son.
"Our baby turned 1 today !!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELITO !!! We love you so much !" Miguel wrote. "So proud and honored that you chose us to be your parents. Papá wrote you a song - hope it always reminds you of how loved you are 🖤🖤🖤"
It's not clear when Miguel and Margaret started dating or the current status of their relationship. However, it looks like they're loving parenthood. In his caption, the singer said he wrote a song for his son and released it exclusively on his website, Schedule One Concepts (S1C). The cover art features a photo from Angel's birth, and the song contains audio of his infant son cooing and crying.
S1C is a creative incubator and brand platform founded by Miguel. According to the website, the singer made the platform to "empower multi-hyphenates across the Black, Brown, and Latin diaspora." The goal of the website is to "unlock both artistic and financial freedom for a new generation of innovators—by investing in their work, creating spaces for mutual education and discourse, and building an ecosystem where culture and capital move as one."
In addition to his son's song, Miguel also dropped his recent single "New Martyrs (Ride 4 U)" and the title track from his upcoming album CAOS on the website. He also used it to announce the album's release date and cover art.
Congratulations to Miguel and Margaret! Look out for Miguel's new album CAOS arriving on October 23.
